Alice M. Alsbaugh

Alice M. Albaugh, much loved friend, mother and grandmother, of Alamosa, CO and Camp Verde, AZ went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2005 in Camp Verde, AZ. Alice was born to Lena Belle Covington Newsom and William F. Newsom on November 26, 1920 at the family homestead in the Newsom District. She attended school in Alamosa. She married Walter M. Alsbaugh of Alamosa on March 3, 1940 and together they and their family spent their time doing the thing they loved most, Professional Rodeo. Alice was a member of the RCA, which became the PRCA and held card number 885. She was a Secretary / Timer and always had a smile and a joke for everyone. She timed at the National Finals Rodeo both in Oklahoma City and Las Vegas, NV and was the first WPRA Secretary of the year in 1993. She was a special lady; she could ride a horse, gather livestock, drive a semi-truck, make fantastic dutch-oven food, and do whatever else needed to be done. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter M. Alsbaugh; her sister, Pearl G. Baker; brother-in-law, Charles M. Baker and her parents. Alice is survived by 3 children, Art (Linda) Alsbaugh of Alamosa, CO, Virginia (Roy) Honeycutt of Alamosa, CO and Betty Weir of Camp Verde, AZ. She is also survived by Seven grandchildren, Jerry, Scott and Janet Honeycutt, Walter Ray and Bobby Weir, Leeann Alsbaugh Lesuer and Kerri Alsbaugh Koteskey; as well as, seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Weir, Chance and Danya Weir, Tel and Orin Honeycutt and Cougar Lesuer. There will be a Memorial Service held in Alice\u0027s memory at a later date.
