Alice -Abby- O'Brien

Alice G. (Abby) O\u0027Brien of Clarkdale died at The Haven in Cottonwood on February 2nd, 2014. She was born June 18th 1917 in New York City to Mae and John Henke, graduated Baldwin High School on Long Island in 1935 and married her high school sweetheart, MJ O\u0027Brien, on September 21, 1941. After living in Baton Rouge , Tucson , Dallas , Los Angeles , Baldwin and Tulsa , the couple moved to South Florida , where Abby found employment with the State Court system. Everywhere she lived she was active in community organizations like scouting, Press Clubs and Junior League. She retired in 1986 and they moved to Tucson . After MJ\u0027s death in 1996 she moved to Pine Shadows where she was active with water aerobics and community potlucks. She enjoyed worshipping at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Abby is survived by two sons Tim and Dennis, two daughters-in-law Nadine and Deborah, three grandchildren, and one great- and one great-great grandchild. She was well loved and will be missed by her family and her many friends.
