Allan Wayne Blackberg was born Sept. 11, 1954, in Rockford, Illinois. He died of natural causes in Cottonwood, Arizona, November 15, 2010. After graduating from Largo High School in Clearwater, Florida, Allan joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Navigator on the USS Midway. He graduated from Washington State University in Pullman. Following work as a bull cook on the North Slope in Alaska, he decided to relocate to Cottonwood, Arizona, in 1982. Allan learned the landscaping trade and enjoyed the work so much, he decided to go into business for himself. After meeting his wife-to-be, Cyndi at a nursery, they started Perennial Landscaping. He enjoyed rappelling, hiking in the Verde Valley, the famous Adopt-a-Greyhound club party/parades. His beautification efforts around the community will be enjoyed for years. Devoted husband, best brother, favorite uncle, and grandpa, Allan is survived by his wife Cyndi, his sisters: Colleen (David) Marinucci; Anchorage, Alaska, Charlene (Ken) Mayginnes, Sandpoint, Idaho, nephews and nieces, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Allan and Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please consider adopting a greyhound or rescuing a pet at your local animal shelter. Services to be announced.
