\u003c Alvin Eugene Beckham, 81, of Cottonwood, AZ passed away on Monday, October 24th. Mr. Beckham was born November 7th, 1923 in Chatanooga, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of World WAr II, having served in the Army Air Corps. He served as a crew chief, on B17 fighter planes. Mr. Beckham worked for the United States Postal Service and when he retired, he was serving as the Post Master in Cottonwood. He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church, he enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, fishing, going out into the woods, camping, and he was also an avid dominos player. In the past he had been an active member of the Masons. Mr. Beckham is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Newell Beckham, two sons Alvin Beckham, Jr. and Donna of Mesa, Arizona; Harrison Beckham and Lisa of Provo, Utah; two daughters: Brenda Walog and Albert of Mesa, Arizona; Frances McBride and Robbin of Gilbert, Arizona; a brother: John Beckham of Roswell New Mexico; a sister: Mary Lou Atchinson of Prescott Valley, Arizona; 28 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and two more are expected. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Harrison and Effie Ethel (Lawrence) Beckham; a brother: Leonard Beckham and a sister: Velma Fricky. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26th at the Mountain View United Methodist Church, 901 S. 12th Street, Cottonwood, AZ.
