Amanda M. Scott, 86, of Cottonwood passed away May 30, 2012. She was born May 20, 1926 in Inspiration, Arizona, the daughter of Glenn Leonard Dickens and Hazel Louise Dixler. Amanda, also known as "Nanny" loved her grandchildren. It didn\u0027t matter what she was doing when they showed up on her doorstep, she would drop what she was doing and play with them and always made sure they had one of her homemade biscuits or tortillas. She also loved to bake and cook on her old wood stove and always had a big spread for the holidays for all of her family. Amanda\u0027s door was always open to family and friends and you never left her house hungry. Amanda loved to garden, crochet and sew on her old treadel sewing machine. Her favorite items to crochet were afghans and baby blankets for the family. She was always mending pants and giving haircuts to her grandchildren. You are loved and appreciated for all you have done. You will be missed and thought about often, and always be with us with love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas T. Scott and her sister Argen Wester. Mrs. Scott is survived by a son, Dallas J. Scott of Texas, Greg K. Scott (Konne) of New Mexico and Zane B. Scott (Lori) of Arizona; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9 at the Faith Tabernacle, 1437 Camino Real in Cottonwood at 11 a.m. A pot luck will follow the funeral at the church.
