Ann Whoolery, 74 of Sedona, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010. She was born November 12, 1936 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Roland Messenger and Sophie Abarro. Ann attended Washington Elementary, Clarion University and Southern CT State University. She was President of Board of Directors of Oak Creek Estados, taught Science in public schools, and co-founder of a Private Special Education School in CT. She enjoyed family, friends, fishing, animals, science, cards, RV traveling and casino entertainment. Ann was a wonderful friend, mother, grandmother and soon to be great grandmother. She was loving, generous and fun loving. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Roland and Sophie and former husband Frederick Whoolery. She is survived by son Thomas Whoolery (Rebecca) of Glen Elder, Kansas; grandchildren Garrett, Mitchell and Correy Whoolery of Glen Elder, Kansas; brother Roland Messenger of Virginia and longtime friend and business partner Terri Zammataro of Sedona. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:30am at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
