Antonio "Tony" Cardona, 60 of Cottonwood , passed away on November 16, 2009. He was born April 20, 1949 in San Francisco , CA , the son of Alvaro and Bertha Cardona. Tony graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1967 and attended San Francisco City College , earning a degree in culinary arts. Tony was awarded a Purple Heart during his Army service in Vietnam , and spent many years as a National Guardsman. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in San Mateo, California. He was also a member of the Elks for 36 years. Tony retired from the automotive industry in 2001 and moved to Cottonwood , Arizona . He loved cruising, cooking, traveling and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Dawn; three children: Eric Cardona of Folsom, CA, Lisa Conn of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kimberlee Amore of Citrus Heights, CA; seven grandchildren: Jazmin, Jayden and Brayanna Pelt, Eddy and Olivia Amore, and Issabella and Jazz Cardona; and his sister Ana Cardona Ruiz of Santa Rosa, CA. A mass will be celebrated in his memory at 8:30am on Monday December 21st at Immaculate Conception Church. A memorial service will also be held at 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday December 21st at the American Legion in Cottonwood . Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, 480 S.
