Armida E. Zepeda

Armida E. Zepeda, 75, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Haven of Cottonwood. A Verde Valley native, she was born on January 24, 1939 to Rivers Rivero and Jennie Eredia in Clarkdale. She graduated from Clarkdale High School in 1957 and was a cheerleader and majorette during her high school years. After graduation she went to work at Lillian\u0027s Sweet Shop in Cottonwood. She also worked at the Dairy Queen, Main Place Carpet and retired from Yellow Front. A lifetime parishioner of Saint Cecelia\u0027s Catholic Church, she also taught catechism for many years. A father once told her that she was doing God\u0027s favorite work. For many years she had a Folklorico dance group for children, teaching them traditional Mexican dances. They performed at Tlaquepaque; Clarkdale, Cottonwood and Camp Verde elementary schools; the Verde Valley Fair; Yavapai-Apache Indian Reservations and many other locations. My, she had a passion for cruising the ocean! Europe, Mexico, South America, the Panama Canal and twice to the Hawaiian Islands. She is predeceased by her mother Jenny Mendoza, her sons Ricardo Zepeda and Arthur Zepeda and her brother Henry Rivero. She is survived by Joe Zepeda, her husband of 55 years, a daughter, Jeanette (Scott) Delladonna, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with the Rosary at 6:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N. Bill Grey Rd in Cottonwood.
