Arne M. Stolberg

Arne M. Stolberg, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was 91 years old. Arne was born on May 18, 1923 in Virginia, MN to Herman and Selma Stolberg. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with the first of his 5 degrees in various types of Engineering. He served his country in the US Navy as an ET-1C during WWII before going on to become a plant electrical engineer and building project manager for Honeywell in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1962 Arne and his wife Mae were founding members of Redeemer Covenant Church in Minnesota. He was a Boy Scout leader and enjoyed men\u0027s softball and bowling. After moving to Cottonwood he became a member of Verde Valley Presbyterian Church. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and became an Affiliate Director and Vice Chair/Faith Relations. In his later years he was an active member of the Verde Valley Voices Choir, sharing his joy in music with his community. Arne liked fishing and golf and he was a true friend to all. He was the kind of person who would do anything to help others. He had a truly good heart. Arne was preceded in death by two wives, Mae Stolberg and Patricia Stolberg and his brother, Hilding Stolberg. He is survived by his son, Larry (Amelia) Stolberg of Minneapolis, MN, his daughter, Lissa (Russell), four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and his special friend Jackie Manganelli. A celebration of Arne\u0027s life will be held at Verde Valley Presbyterian Church, located at 1500 E. Hombre Dr. in Cottonwood, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Arne\u0027s name may be made to Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity or to Verde Valley Presbyterian Church.
