Art Berger, 95 of Cottonwood, passed away on July 11, 2013 in Prescott Valley. He was born on May 24, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Sr. and Bettie Berger. Art served his country in the Army during WWII in Italy. Some of that time was spent on trains with large mules. After shipping to Italy the mules were dropped in favor of jeeps and trucks for the rest of the war. Art earned two battle stars during that time and was discharged as a Master Sergeant. After discharge Virginia and Art moved to Flagstaff with Bill and owned a camera shop for 20 years. During this time, Bill earned his BA Degree and moved on to Las Vegas. Art and Virginia worked hard for a number of years. Art attended Verde Baptist Church. Art was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Pugsley Berger; sisters Ruth Pfeiffer and Elsa Berger and brother Robert Berger. He is survived by second wife Emma Berger and son Bill Berger.
