B. Frances Fick, 77, resident of Cottonwood, was called home by God on Saturday, August 30, 2008. She was the daughter of Edward H. Smith, Sr. and Bealuh M. (Wilkenson) Smith. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 1930. She was a graduate of Oak Park/River Forest High School. Frances was a loyal wife, a loving mother, and a friend to all. She was foremost, a daughter of God, with an open ear and helping hand. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling with her husband, and cheering for her beloved Chicago Bears! As an active member of the Lutheran Church in both Illinois and Arizona, she served on the altar guild, Wednesday night soup suppers, banquets, and gave multiple prayers for all. She was also an active member of the Auxiliary of the 4th Marine Division of the Chicago Chapter. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister-in-law, Ann Smith. She leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Charles W. Fick, Sr.; her son, Charles W. Fick, Jr. with his wife Christiane of Moline, Illinois; her daughters, Susan L. Fick of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Sandra L. Clutterbuck with her husband, Joseph of Sugar Grove, Illinois; and her grandson, Justin D. Ruark who is currently serving in the United States Air Force in Afghanistan. She is also survived by her brother, Edward H. Smith; four nieces and nephews, and 9 great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2021 E.
