Bertha Lee Harshman 78 while surrounded by family and friends went home to be with the LORD on Friday, June 7, 2019.
She was born on September 26, 1940 in Phoenix, AZ to Noble Gilbert and Lois Irene Horton. She was the youngest of four children. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister Dorcus McDaniel's and brother, John Horton. Bertha is survived by her sister Dorothy \u0026 brother-in-law Gene Jeffery G, her husband Robert, their son Robert and daughter-in-law Cheryl, son Jeffery and daughter-in-law Teresa, son Stephen and daughter-in-law Elizabeth, son Marshall and daughter-in-law Kristina, her sister-in-law Lula "Lu" Horton, 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
As a youth Bertha attended Garfield Elementary and Phoenix Union High School. She was also very active as a "Christ Ambassador" at Phoenix First Assembly of God where she met Robert Harshman. She went to school at Phoenix College and Central Bible Institute in Springfield Missouri. Bertha married Robert (Bill) and had four sons, Robert Lee, Jeffery Lynn, Stephen Paul and Marshall Guy. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother she taught children's church for several years while her husband served as a law enforcement officer and in 1984 Robert began pastoring Guadalupe Assembly of God where she served faithfully alongside her husband in ministry for 34 years.
A memorial service for Bertha will be held at the Heights Church located at 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, AZ 86301 on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Visitation begins at 10:30am with the service to follow at 11:00am. Flowers can be sent directly to the church address.
