Betty Alf passed away on Aug. 30, 2019 in Cottonwood, Arizona.
She was born Betty Joyce Olson on Sept. 12, 1934, and raised near Moose Lake, Minnesota.
She married Leonard Alf in 1959. They lived and worked for the next several years in St. Paul, Minnesota.
After retirement, they spent winters in Quartzsite, Arizona, and summers on the lake at Moose Lake. After Leonard's death in 2006, she moved to Cottonwood, Arizona.
She volunteered 25 years for AARP Tax-Aid in Quartzsite and Cottonwood, was a volunteer at the QIA in Quartzsite and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She enjoyed volunteering for the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Verde Valley Christian Church where services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.
She is survived by her sister LaVonne O'Brien of Cottonwood, 28 nieces and nephews, and a stepson.
She was preceded in death by five siblings.
Burial will be in Willow River, Minnesota.
