Betty L. Barefoot

Betty L. Barefoot, 75 of Rimrock, passed away on June 8, 2012. She was born on November 16, 1932 in San Francisco, California. Ingredients for a life well lived: 1. Loving, extraordinary giving, intelligent woman. 2. Faith in God, Humanity and herself. 3. Courage above all, no matter what was happening or was not occurring. Blend these ingredients together with generous amounts of the golden rule and fold in a sense of humor that produced much laughter for all of us. Combine with a lifetime of decision making. What a woman! And don\u0027t forget to garnish with the family. Cameron Barefoot her loving husband (died May 12, 2008). Their six children: Bruce Barefoot, wife Marya and two daughters Juliana and Jana; Keith Barefoot; Steve Aligrove with wife Laura and son Jessie; Jeff Barefoot with wife Carol and daughters Sarah and April (Jeff died December 29, 2012); Bonnie Coster with husband Ron; and Stacy Barefoot with partner Kenny Farmer. (Brian Barefoot only survived two days of life but was always with Betty in her heart.) Betty was so proud of all her children. Others include twin sister Barbara Mendivil and brother Mike Johnson; nieces and nephew: Paula Bergeron with husband Henry, Jim Siewert and Jackie Neermann. Last but not least Betty\u0027s Harley riding heaven sent Carl McKinnis whose dedicated effort allowed Betty\u0027s last days to be filled with loving care. Betty wore many hats and gathered a few nicknames. Bug and Bugalusa (dubbed by Cameron) was an artist. She painted and loved working with natural mediums. Listening to music as well as playing the piano. She appreciated handmade gifts over store bought any day. Give her a few rocks and she would be in seventh heaven mixing the cement and building rock planters and setting up the foundation for their home. Gathering and building the rock fireplace. It was happy days after getting home from her full time job with the sheriffs department and slipping in her work clothes. She loved her home and truly threw herself with gusto into its creation. As she poured on in the hot sun she was so incredibly happy. She wore a lot of hats: Mom, doc, provider, cook, coach, fan, friend, policeman and pit-bull if needed. Betty never played favorites and was able to make people feel better after sharing a little time with her. Her word was her bond. Betty was able to manage all of this with class and grace. Even a little snicker when at the end of her earthly time Carl would refer to her as "Hot Rod". She is with our Lord Jesus Christ now and reunited with her husband Cameron, Jeff, Brian and parents Bud and Bea Johnson. If you knew Betty then you know she had a life well lived.
