Betty R. (Tatsch) Clifton, 90, of Cottonwood, passed away on February 25, 2012. She was born on February 5, 1922 in Beloit, OH to Ezra and Ruth Tatsch. Betty attended Marion College, graduating with a degree in teaching and went on to teach all over Arizona, including in Chinle, Tonalea and Page, and at Clarkdale-Jerome school. Betty was involved in missionary work on the Navajo Reservation near Page from 1964-1970. She was a foster parent, and attended Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church and was interested in church related activities. Betty was known to her foster daughters and grandchildren as "Aunt Bea" Betty was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Clifton, her parents and three brothers, Clinton, James and Harold. She is survived by her foster daughters, Hannah (Curtis) Lopez of Cottonwood, AZ and Lenora Blackcalf of Polacca, AZ; 7 foster grandchildren and 9 foster great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She laso leaves a close friend and Sister in the Lord, Maxine Harrington. Services will be held at the Cottonwood Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1691 Rainbow Road, Cottonwood, on Friday March 2, 2012 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
