Betty Marie Hanf, 78, of Camp Verde died May 6. She was born July 15, 1931 in Phoenix, the daughter of Morten Fletcher Nelssen and Marie Otella Carlock. She was a second generation Phoenician. She was a graduate of Riverside Elementary and received her Bachelors degree at Arizona State University. She taught at Riverside Elementary School and went to the Alhambra Unified School District after receiving her Masters degree from Northern Arizona University was promoted to assistant principal at Sevilla Elementary School. She traveled through Europe in the 1950¿½s. She was a volunteer at the Camp Verde Library. She also enjoyed gardening, travel, artwork and cooking. She will be missed by her family and friends who she cherished. Mrs. Hanf was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Hanf and her brother Fletcher Nelssen. She is survived by a daughter Marna G. Kelley(Brian) of Phoenix and their children Michael Ryan Kelley (Tara) and Marie Elyse Kelley; stepson Jack Hanf (JoAnne) of Denver and their children Christy and Shari; a stepdaughter Betsey Hanf preceded her in death and left a son Jason.
