Betty Marie Miles, 84, of Cottonwood died September 28. She was born April 5, 1924 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Russell F. and Inez Marie Peek Larkin. She attended Springfield schools and at the age of 27 married Kenneth Fletcher Miles. They moved to Ventura, then Hollywood, California, then Alhambra and later Monterey Park. In 1977, they moved to Phoenix. In 1981, they moved to Cottonwood. Mrs. Miles worked mostly as a bookkeeper, but earlier in her life worked as a car-hop. She was member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Women\u0027s Auxiliary of the American Legion, the Verde Village property Owners Association and the Women\u0027s Club of Verde Village and the V. F. W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, crafts, cards, travel, fishing and entertaining. Mrs. Miles is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1982, her sister Grace in 1993 and her brother James in 2001. She leaves nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
