A Celebration of Life for both George \u0027Bill\u0027 and Jane Colton will be held Saturday, April 15 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 AM. Bill Colton George W. (Bill) Colton of Cottonwood passed away in his sleep Saturday surrounded by his family. He was born in Easton, PA June 5th 1925 to George William and Ruah Hollister (Fenn) Colton. Bill served with the 104th Infantry Division during WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Afterwards he received a degree in geology from Yale University. He worked 28 years for the USGS and 16 years with the Arkansas Geological Commission. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, William James. He and Jane Miskimen were married on April 9th, 1952 in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He was survived by his wife, Jane, who paased away March 27, and by his 11 children: Jim (Jan), Cottage Grove OR; Ted (Becky), Flagstaff AZ; Doug, Cottonwood AZ; Jenny Miller (Kurt), El Paso TX; Kathy (Rusty) Branscum, Batesville AR; Matt, Flagstaff AZ; Charley (Carla), Imperial NE; Tom (Debby), Rialto CA; Karla Rollins (Jon), Rancho Cucamonga CA; Dwight (Heather), San Jose CA; and Holly Seeders (Mike), Glendale AZ; 28 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Edward (Merna) Colton and Buster (Kaye) Colton. He was a loving, loyal and strong man who will be greatly missed by his family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood 86326. Jane M. Colton Jane Miskimen Colton of Cottonwood died in her sleep Monday, March 27, 2006, following a short battle with lung cancer. Jane was born in Zelienople, Pa., Jan.5, 1926, to James and Martha Miriam (Yost) Miskimen. She was preceded in death by and infant son, her husband, George W. "Bill" Colton, four sisters and three brothers. Jane and Bill were married on April 9, 1952, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. They moved to Rockville, Md., in 1958 and then to Flagstaff in 1966. After raising their 11 children, Jane became a volunteer at Flagstaff Medical Center, putting in well over 2, 000 volunteer hours. In 1994 she moved to Little Rock, Ark., and then returned to Arizona in 1999, to settle in Cottonwood. She is survived by eight siblings, her 11 children: Jim (Jan), Cottage Grove, Ore., Ted (Becky) Flagstaff, Doug, Cottonwood, Jenny Miller (Kurt), El Paso, Texas; Kathy (Rusty) Branscum, Batesville, Ark.; Matt, Flagstaff; Charley (Carla), Imperial, Neb., Tom (Debby), Rialto, Calif.; Karla (Jon), Rollins, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Dwight (Heather) Parker, Colo., and Holly (Mike) Seeders, Glendale, 28 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and wife, who touched the lives of all those she met. She will be greatly missed. A joint memorial service for Jane and Bill will be held April 15 at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Northern Arizona Hospice.
