Bob Burrow

May 25, 1915 — July 5, 2006

Bob Burrow, 91, resident of Camp Verde, Arizona, passed away in Cottonwood, Arizona on Wednesday, July 5, 2006. He was born on May 25, 1915 to John Franklin and Katie Ann (Farris) Burrow in Ada, Oklahoma; where he grew up. In 1934, and at the young age of 19, Bob met Cecile Jones, whom he married and shared the next 70 years of his life with. It was during World War II, that Bob moved his family to Arizona. It was during this time that he worked in the mines in Miami, Arizona as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Little did he know then, that this first job in construction would lead him into a career with road construction as an operating engineer for some 50+ years . During his career he held a variety of positions which ranged from blade operator, to supervisor, to foreman. Bob loved gardening and irrigation, but most importantly, he loved family; the time spent and the memories created were his greatly joy, and his deepest pride. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Cecile, whom Bob lost in February of 2005; as well as, all 6 of his siblings. Bob was the devoted father of Douglas R. Burrow with wife, Suzanne, of Glendale, Arizona, and Ronald G. Burrow with wife, Carol, of Florence, Arizona; and he was the adored grandfather ("Po-Po") of 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Family Services are private. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
