Bonnie Lee Tennihill Tornquist

Bonnie Lee Tennihill Tornquist was born October 20, 1945 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Forrest and Glee Tennihill of Lost Nation, Iowa. She passed away on March 20, 2014 in Cottonwood. Bonnie attended Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa, and graduated from Americana School of Beauty, in Des Moines, Iowa. She resided in Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Illinois before moving to Arizona in 1979. Bonnie was co-owner of "The Hair Escape" in Cottonwood, AZ. for the past thirty years with Sharon Fuller Cox. She is survived by her two daughters, Dana Lam, of Phoenix, AZ.; and Danell Hunter (Mark), of Cottonwood, AZ.; five grandsons; Ethan and Harrison Lam, Casey, Dax, and Logan Hunter; and great-granddaughter, Danika Hunter; three sisters, Judy Tennihill Howell (John), of Phoenix, AZ., Patty Tennihill Lidner-Kleine (Klaas), of Bend, OR.; and Laura Tennihill Schneider (Alan) of Urbandale, IA. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her daughters and her grandsons. She loved to sing hymns on Friday nights with the "Heaven-Bound Bluegrass Band". She was also extremely gifted in writing poetry. Bonnie enjoyed being a beautician for fifty years. Her clients were like family to her. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held in Bonnie\u0027s honor at 3:00pm on April 26, 2014, at the Cottonwood Seventh-day Adventist Church 51 W. Mingus Ave. Cottonwood, of which she was a member.
