Carol Ann Colaprete of Cottonwood, died June 9.
She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Gondek and mother Stella Laisen of Bessemer, Michigan.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stephen; daughter, Stephanie; sons, Anthony, David and Joseph; a brother; a sister; grandsons and granddaughters.
Carol Ann Gondek was born and grew up in Bessemer, Michigan, an iron ore mining town at the western end of Michigan's Upper Peninsula on August 5, 1942. After a brief attendance at collage in Marquette she had to seek the support of her brother in Los Angeles. There she met Stephen Colaprete who she married July 10, 1965 in Los Angeles. They moved to Boulder, Colorado in September 1965, living there for 30 years and nearby another 7 years.
She was active in the Catholic Church there and was elected prescient representative to the Republican State Convention one year. She provided bookkeeping services to businesses in the area both as an employee and as a sole proprietor. As a self-employed bookkeeper she got many audit approvals for her clients. She also worked as a Receptionist for the University of Colorado Wardenberg Student Health Center in Boulder from which she retired in 2002.
She moved to Sedona, Arizona in 2002 where she and her husband traveled many of the hiking trails in the Sedona area. After 12 years in Sedona they relocated to Cottonwood, Arizona.
Carol's soul now rests with the Lord, His angels and all the Saints. Heaven is made for people like Carol, she is and was wonderful in all ways, a good wife and mother and she stood strong with good faith all the way to the end. She will live in the memories of her children and her husband and friends for many years to come. She has left this physical world and is now in the Land of the Free and Joyful, the Land of the Resurrected in soul. She may intercede for us; thus we keep her in our prayers and we pray for her to pray for us as wellno prayers are wasted. We all shall be reunited with her when we too are called away from this physical realm and enter the glorious Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today she is happy and free from pain, all pain. If you listen very hard you can hear her laugh and you can feel her hug, her warmth, her eternal; love.
A celebration of life/mass will be held at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona at 10:00am on July 10, 2020. Donations are suggested for St Jude Children's Hospital.
