Carol Lee Godard, 73, of Cornville died suddenly November 23 at her home. She was born September 13, 1937 in Oak Creek Canyon, the daughter of Guy Gilbert Thompson and Alpha Louise Kurtz Thompson. She graduated from the Clemenceau School. She was a proud homemaker, mother and wife. She raised her children well and kept her husband Don organized and in line for 55 years. She will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and a pillar of the commnity. Carol enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, cooking and baking. She leaves her husband of almost 55 years, Don Godard; son Allen Godard (B.J.) of Tucson and their son Allen Godard, Jr (Jessica) of Tucson; daughter Connie Phillips (Don Ross) of Cottonwood and granddaughters Sarah Phillips-Boland (Martin Boland) of Maranna and Holly Shanahan (Kyle) of Cornville; sisters Janet Cluff of Clarkdale and Eleanor Shoenberger of Gold Canyon. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 26 in the Cottonwood Cemetery at 10 AM. Donations in Carol\u0027s memory may be made to the Clemenceau Museum, PO Box 511, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
