Charles Curtis Comer

Charles Curtis Comer, son of Ted and Ruby Grippen Comer, was born January 8, 1936 near Holly, Colorado. He departed this life March 17, 2011 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Charles was a resident of Elko, Nevada for 22 years and an employee of Barrick Goldstrike Mines for 11 years. Prior to moving to Nevada, Charles and family were residents of Buena Vista, Colorado. On March 4, 1961 Charles was united in marriage to Mildred Marie Allison Dougherty, and to this union three daughters, Vickie Marie, Marilyn Rene and Carolyn Lachelle, were born. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Ruby Comer, a brother, Harold Wayne Comer and infant twin daughter, Carolyn Lachelle Comer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mildred; his brother, Ernest Lesley Comer, of British Columbia, Canada; his daughters, Vickie Marie Comer and Marilyn Rene Comer Eddleman of Elko, Nevada; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Chuck was a member of R.O.W.E. Community volunteer for 10 years. A memorial service is planned for Friday, March 26, 2011, at 6171 Buchannan Avenue, Ryndon, Nevada at 2:00pm.
