Chester Eugene "Lucky" Cummings joined his creator on September 16th, 2015. Lucky passed away peacefully at home after complications from health problems he stoically endured for several years. His loving wife, son and family were by his side. Lucky was born premature on December 31, 1946 during a snowstorm in a 1937 Chevrolet in Midland Texas to Robert E. Cummings and Joyce (Davis) Cummings; thus the nickname Lucky. He was raised in Imperial Valley California and after high school he attended Imperial College. In 1972 he married the love of his life Glenda Jean (Sims) Cummings. They resided in Brawley California and were blessed with a son, Kevin Eugene Cummings, on February 13th, 1989. Lucky received his Realtor license and worked for Century 21 for five years. In 2003 the family moved to Camp Verde Arizona. Lucky was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Joyce Cummings and his step-mother, Bonnie Simpson Cummings. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Glenda Sims Cummings, his son Kevin Cummings, sisters Karen Kurrle (Arlo), Marilyn Baugh, Sue Premivara, Elaine Nixon, Francine Arlow (Jack) and Lisa Parker; brothers Jimmy Hastings, Dennie Skinner (Marsha) and John Parker; uncles Eddie Cummings and Curtis Cummings (Vena); in-laws Judy Nelson (Larry), Terry Langford (Don) and Ron Sims (Janice) and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held at the Camp Verde Baptist Church on September 22, 2015.Burial was in Clear Creek Cemetery. Lucky will remain in our hearts forever.
