Chester M. Rau

Chester M. Rau, 81 of Cottonwood , passed away on September 16. He was born on March 31, 1929 in Hartford , Connecticut to Frank and Rose Rau. Chester attended Rockville High School in Vernon , Connecticut . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, cooking and the Phoenix Suns. He also attended Calvary Chapel in Cottonwood . His faith in God and love for family defined his life. There was a special bond of love between his children and grandchildren and all others who were privileged to know him. Chester is survived by his wife Shirley, whom he has loved for 20 years. He is also survived by sons Peter M. Rau (Pamela) of Massachusetts , Steven P. Kuck (Debbie) of Phoenix , Albert C. Kuck of Arizona; daughters Allison Rau Matczak (Joseph) of Connecticut, Gretchen Rau Richard (Stephen) of Indiana, Sharma Lee Rau Anzar (Manny) of Phoenix Sandra J. Smith (Steve) of Phoenix, Gail M. Larkin (Daniel) of Phoenix; brothers and sisters Irene Tupper of California, Walter Rau of California, Pat Colfield (Jack) of Connecticut; sister-in-law Ruth Rau of Phoenix; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
