Cleveland W. ''Pete'' Williams

October 2, 1925 — June 6, 2003

Cleveland W. \u0027\u0027Pete\u0027\u0027 Williams, 77, of Cottonwood died May 6. He was born October 2, 1925 in Vilona, Arkansas. During World War II he served first with the Navy and then was assigned to the Marines as a medic and was a veteran of the battle of Iowa Jima. He was a retired electrical engineer and worked for many years for Mountain Bell. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was formerly active in the Arizona Chapter 66 Pioneers, the Arizona Flywheelers and the Mingus Gem and Mineral Club. He leaves a daughter, Patricia Duff of Cottonwood; four sisters, Lodema Magill of Arizona, Jane Parker of Oregon, Pauline Gooden of Tennessee and Pam Cline of North Carolina; three brothers, Bill Williams of Arizona, George Lloyd of Indonesia and Vinson Williams of Arizona; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9 from 6 to 7 PM followed by a Rosary at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Tueday, June 10 in the Immaculate Conception Church at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
