Daniel Steve Apponyi

Daniel S. Apponyi, 61, resident of Camp Verde, passed away at the Flagstaff Medical Center on May 27, 2008. He was the son of Steve and Sue (Puskar) Apponyi; born July 4, 1946 in Granite City, Illinois. Daniel worked for TWA out of St. Louis, Missouri from 1967-2001. Following which he moved to Arizona and then worked for the Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde from 2002-2008. Daniel enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening; but most of all, spending time with is family. He leaves behind his wife of 8 years, Catherine Apponyi of Camp Verde; two sons, Brent Apponyi of Richmond, VA, and Larry Halbrook of Camp Verde; two daughters, Danielle (Boe) Hartman of Richmond, VA, and Sarah Halbrook of Camp Verde; his brother, Jim (Theresa) Hansen of Phoenix; four sisters, Sue Costillo of Ventura, CA, Barbara (Norman) Baggett of New Boston, IL, Valerie (Mike) Dodson of Keithsburg, IL, and Julie Vetter of Brighton, IL; as well as two grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Westcott Funeral Home-Camp Verde Chapel at 11:00am.
