Daniel David Tapija Sr., 71 of Clarkdale, passed away October 14, 2010. He was born on February 8, 1939 in Valentine, AZ to Grant Lewis Tapija, Sr. and Fanny (Quesada) Tapija. Daniel attended Peach Springs Day School for 8 years and was a graduate of Seligman High School. He was in the Navy from 1957 to 1962. He also worked as an electrician for Phoenix Cement Plant in Clarkdale. Daniel attended Hualapai Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, baseball, basketball, football, watching sports on television, spending time with grandkids, coaching and traveling. He had a kind heart, generous spirit, a good nature and deep devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a dearly beloved friend. Words can\u0027t express how much he will be missed and remembered forever. "Bi banyah hanayuu" (Love from everyone). Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Grant Lewis Tapija Sr. and Fanny Tapija; daughter Lori Lynn Perez; brother Larry Tapija; and sisters Gracie Lewis and Glory Tapija. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Geraldine Tapija; sons Daniel David Tapija Jr. (Laura) of Prescott, Marc Wade Tapija (Amy) of Glendale, and Matthew Jason Tapija (Leslie) of Clarkdale; brothers Grant Tapija Jr. (Phoebe) of Peach Springs, AZ, Luke Tapija (Andrea) of Treeport, LA, Allen Tapija (Kathy) of Cavecreek, AZ and Bryant Tapija (Josie) of Peach Springs; sisters Rose Goldstein (Robert) of Truxton, AZ, Inez Manakaja (Dudley) of Peach Springs and Christine Lee (Lester) of Peach Springs; 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A visitation for Daniel will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 5-7:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave, Cottonwood. A service will be held on Wednesday, October 20 at 10:00am also at Westcott Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribal Cemetery, 530 E. Merritt St., Prescott, AZ.
