Daphne Boan, 73, of Cottonwood died October 7, 2011. She was born December 1, 1937 in Belton, Kentucky, the daughter of Clarence and Abbie (Barbee) Knight. She attended the Clemenceau School. She worked at the former Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital as a cook, at Babbit\u0027s Department Store, and then at Lumbermans until she retired. She also worked at the Bear Track in Sedona in the 1970s. Her hobbies included collecting and restoring antiques, gardening and making exotic plants grow from clippings. Her passion was cooking, she was known as the best cook in town. She loved life and her children, grandchildren and watching her great-grandchildren grow. Her door was always open to anyone. She was the center of her family\u0027s life and will always be so loved. She was preceded in death by her mother Abbie; sisters Delores Wombacher, Margaret Ohlwiler and Linda Ohlwiler. She is survived by sons Randy Burris II (Tammie) of Kingman, Arizona; Andy Burris of Cottonwood; daughters Theresa Bright (Ken) of Cottonwood, Lisa Burris of Cottonwood and Michelle Burris of Cottonwood; a niece Debra Wombacher of Cottonwood, a nephew Tim Saline of Bullhead City, Arizona; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday October 15 at her home at 916 River Drive, Cottonwood at 1 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 203 S.
