Darlene H. Thompson

Darlene H. Thompson, 84 of Cottonwood , passed away in Sedona on November 11, 2010. She was born in Chicago , Illinois on February 23, 1926 to William J. and Marie Pitts. Darlene attended Immaculate Heart High and Immaculate Heart College and was a Servant of Mary. She belonged to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking, gardening and most of all; her children. Darlene will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her first husband Basil J. Sands Sr., married for 38 years and her second husband Robert L. Thompson, married for 14 years. Also preceded her was daughters Diane Irene Duggan and Joanne H. Gervin and son Robert J. Sands. She is survived by sons Bud Sands (Eddie) of Fairbanks, AK, William Sands (Kathy) of Valley Center, CA, Patrick Sands (Gary) of Cottonwood and Dan Sands (Debbie) of Murrieta, CA; daughter Suzanne Uppman of Anaheim, CA; sister Mary Ann Kandel of Costa Mesa, CA; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at a later date. Any donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N.
