David Daniel DeWolfe, of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Born August 12, 1935, in Waltham, MA, to Joseph DeWolfe and Mary Bennett, David spent his childhood in Waltham, attending Waltham High School. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. Following college, David served in the Air Force. His culinary career flourished, Master Mason and renowned Certified Executive Chef performed seminars for the National Restaurant Association, while working as Department Chairman for Johnson & Whales University’s Culinary Arts College. He also held the position of Executive Chef at Long Beach and South Bay Memorial. Ice carvings, French Gastronomic Meals, gingerbread houses and competitions were some of his talents.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Christin DeWolfe, and his brother, James DeWolfe. He is survived by his daughters, Judith Waldecker, Jennifer May, and Rebecca DeWolfe; his stepsons, John Vastano and Chris Vastano; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating David's life will be held at the American Legion, 480 S Calvary Way, Cottonwood, AZ, on February 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
