David Guy Hughes, 60, of Clarkdale passed away on July 26, 2009. He was born June 22, 1949 in Seattle, WA to Wilbur and Helen Hughes. He graduated from Mt. Lake Terrace High School in 1967, and then attended trade school where he specialized in sprinkler installation. He served as an apprentice at Brinnell Sprinkler and as a fitter for 23 years. He later worked at Metro as a Class A transportation driver for the remaining years of his life. Mr. Hughes was an accomplished golfer, and was passionate about the game. He was also an avid fan of the Seattle Sea Hawks, the University of Washington Huskies football teams and the Seattle Mariners baseball team. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, son and brother who loved his family dearly, and brought laughter and joy to everyone around him. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife of 6 years Jeanne, his parents, Wilbert and Helen Hughes of Everett, WA, a brother Michael Hughes of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Cindy Lawrence of Irvine, CA, Diane Mc Glaughlin of Everett, WA, a step-daughter Angi Arends of Seattle, WA, nieces Hillary Kiger, and Kimberly Hudson, nephews, Shawn and Brett Lawrence. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue in Cottonwood.
