David Russell Tiede, 68, of Cottonwood died October 5. He was born March 6, 1936 in Batavia, New York. A graduate of Batavia (New York) High School, he also was a techinical school graduate. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr.Tiede worked for Tierney Manufacturing in Phoenix and previoulsy for Xerox in Rochester, New York. A member of the American Legion, he enjoyed softball, basketball and bowling, acheiving three 300 point games and he also participated in the Senior Olympics. He was a friend to everyone he ever met. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Marlene Tiede; a son Russell David Tiede and his wife Lorine of Mayer; a daughter Kellene Tiede McCall and her husband Stuart of Scottsdale; three brothers, Richard Tiede, Raymond Tiede and Roger Tiede all of New York; a sister, Dorothy Culling of Florida; and five grandchildren. A brother, Frank Tiede, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 11 AM.
