Domitila "Tillie" Ochoa Redondo, resident of Prescott, passed away at her home on May 19, 2007-just one day before celebrating her 103rd birthday! She was the last survivor of the Ochoa family. Tillie was born in Congress Mine, Arizona on May 20, 1904 to Raphael G. and Priciliana C. (Caro) Ochoa. She went to the little red school house in Wickenburg and also in Clarkdale. Tillie was always an industrious and independent person from selling magazine subscriptions as a child to having a beauty parlor for 30 years in Cottonwood. In her life, she tried to do the best for all of her family. She was married to Jose E. Redondo, the love of her life, on May 23, 1024. They were married for 70 years when Jose preceded her in death in 1994. They left the Verde Valley and moved to Phoenix in 1948. They lived on a small farm adjacent to the airport. They retired to Cottonwood in 1974, but then moved to Prescott where they remained until 1994. As Tillie got older she moved to Glendale where she could live with her daughter and grandchildren. Tillie is survived by her son, Alfred Joseph Ochoa Redondo; her daughter, Grace Redondo Wilson; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 4:00-7:00pm with the Rosary at 6:00pm. A Graveside Service will follow Friday morning, May 25, 2007 at 11:00am at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale. Memorial Donations are to be sent to the Salvation Army-Corps, 507 North Humphreys Street, Flagstaff, Arizona 86001. An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
