Donald Raymond Baker, 68, died peacefully at his home in Cottonwood, Arizona, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly, Friday, February 24, 2006. Don's incredible love of life and will to survive simply could not overpower his body's need to go. Born in Douglas, Wyoming, July 14, 1937, Don and his family relocated to Arizona in 1960 where he and his wife, Mary, raised their five children. Don worked for Philco Ford for several years before the family moved to Chino Valley, Arizona in 1979. After moving to Chino Valledy, Don built beautiful cabinetry before joining the maintenance staff at Chino Valley Public Schools, from where he retired in 2000. After retiring, Don, Mary and Mike lived in Meadview, Arizona until 2003 where they made their home in Cottonwood, Arizona. The last several years of his life Don, Mary and Mike traveled around the country in their motorhome exploring the country, visiting family and having fun. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Hazel Baker, and sister, Bonnie Baker, Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary, their five children, Donna Baker, Mike Baker, Doug Baker, Michelle Perry, and Pam Ramos. Don was a loving grandfather to his eight grandchildren and great-grandson. We will all miss Don's presence and absolute love of living. We hope you're out there somewhere fishing up a storm and working on catching the 'big one'. We Love You! An online guestbook is available at www.westcottfuneralhome.com
