Donald Crist Newman Sr., 71 of Sedona, passed away on April 17, 2013. He was born on April 2, 1942 in Flagstaff, AZ to Earl Don Newman and Willa Mae Kendrick. Crist was preceded in death by his parents Willa Mae Kendrick (Calvin) and Earl Newman (Patricia) and daughters Michelle Arnsperger (Wayne) and Donna Mae Newman. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Cheri; son Donnie Crist Newman Jr. (Heather) of Clarkdale; daughter Heidi Lynn McCracken of Sedona; brothers Ronald Newman (Kathy) of Nevada and Robert Newman of Sedona and 4 grandchildren. Crist graduated from Flagstaff High in 1960 then attended N.A.U. for business and architecture from 1960-1964. Crist owned and operated Sedona Texaco at the "Y" then worked for most of his life as one of the best crane operators for Marco Crane in Northern Arizona. He was a member of the Masonic Hall. Crist enjoyed spending time with his family while hunting, camping, fishing, flying and barbequing. He was a loving father, devoted husband, always friendly, dependable, and willing to lend a hand and never raised his voice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 11:00am at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood and will follow with a Celebration of Life ceremony.
