Dora D. Taggart
September 28th, 1947 – December 13th, 2024
Born Dora Richardson, the middle child of Joe and Carolyn Richardson, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Dora passed peacefully with her husband of 55 years by her side. In 1962, Dora’s family moved to Globe/Miami AZ. Dora decided in middle school to become a nurse, and in high school, took the challenging courses that nursing school required. Dora graduated from Miami High School, class of 1965. Dora attended Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing (1965-1968) in Phoenix, where she met her husband, Jack Taggart, and married in 1969. After nursing school, Jack joined the Navy, moving many times with Dora working as a nurse in various locations. In August, 1973, Dora gave birth to her son, Ryan, and in March 1975, her daughter Cara was born, completing their family. As a Navy wife, their service took them to California, Japan, Rhode Island, and Puerto Rico, making lifelong friends at every location. Jack retired from the Navy and the family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before settling in Cottonwood, Arizona in 1997. Dora enjoyed travelling (a lot) with family and friends, cooking, and entertaining. She was active and passionate about the work she did with PEO. Dora was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Carolyn Richardson and her nephew Reed Atkins. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack Taggart, her son, Ryan (Cully), her daughter, Cara (Audrey), her granddaughter Chloe, her grandsons, Dillon and Carter, and her great-grandson, Kamon, her brother, Nils Richardson (Shirley), her sister, Kathy Thomas (Mark), her sisters-in-law, Judy Atkins (Joe), Mary Boetcher (Terry), and many nieces and nephews.
