Dorothy Drane Berthot, 79, resident of Camp Verde, passed away March 1st in Cottonwood. She was born August 10, 1927 in Eldorado, Kansas to Phillips Brooks Drane and Katherine Beecher Richardson Drane. Dorothy was a graduate of the University of Tulsa. She was fortunate to be a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed reading, horses and dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Richard Edward Drane. Dorothy leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Charles A. Berthot of Camp Verde; three sons, Mike Stanley Cannon with his wife, Valerie of Houston, Texas, Robert Mitchell Cannan of Broomfield, Colorado, and Patrick Philip Cannan with his wife, Michelle of Arvada, Colorado; one daughter, Katherine Ann Lederman with her husband, Marc of Sterling, Virginia; one step-son, Clay C. Berthot of Locust, North Carolina; five step-daughters, Lisa J. Swan of Greece, Bridget L. Brush with her husband, Barry of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary Janae Berthot of Phoenix, Polly S. McGuire with her husband, Kelly of Odessa, Texas, and Ellen F. Sandoval with her husband, Rueben of Cottonwood; one sister, Phyllis Drane Bernard with her husband, David of Santa Monica, California; 20 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at Westcott Funeral Home on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 6:00pm.
