Dorothy A. Manfredi, 91 of Cottonwood, passed away December 25, 2010. She was born August 1, 1919 in Belleville, New Jersey to Biagio and Angelina (DeAngelus) Amarella. Dorothy attended Verona High School and Secretarial College. Dorothy and her husband moved to Cottonwood in 1962 from Anaheim, CA. They owned and operated "The Men\u0027s Shop" in old town Cottonwood for several years. She was a past member of the Rebekahs and worked as a secretary for the City of Cottonwood in the Planning and Zoning Department. Dorothy loved music and was a vocal soloist, English hand bell ringer and Opera buff. She was also an active member of the Verde Valley Concert Association; holding leadership positions in its early years. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Manfredi; brothers Benjamin and Carl Amarella and sister Katherine Gold. She is survived by nieces Donna Marasco of TN, Elaine Jenkins of TN, Judith Prieto of FL and Deb Trowbridge of FL. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00pm at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
