Douglas William Olson, 64 years of age and resident of Camp Verde, Arizona, passed away at home on Saturday, June 3, 2006. Douglas was born to Earl Alfonso and Verna Cecelia Olson on May 7, 1942. He was born in Gonvick, Minnesota, where he attended Gonvick Elementary. At a young age, his family moved to the Phoenix area, where he attended Creighton Elementary and when he grew older, he attended the Phoenix Union High School and Saint Marys High School. Douglas served an apprenticeship with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.Following which, he worked for IBEW-local 640. Upon relocation to the Verde Valley, Douglas became a local businessman, owning and operating D\u0026E Electric, Inc. Douglas was a proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 19 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Verna Olson; and his son, Travis Dwayne Olson. Douglas was the husband of Ellen Dee Olson, of Camp Verde, AZ for 46 years; he was the father of, James Earl Olson and Addie Lucretia Vinson, both of Camp Verde, AZ; he was the brother to Elton (Carol) Olson of Phoenix, AZ, Yvonne (John) Norks of Solon Springs, WI, Carmen (Phil) Whitten of Camp Verde, AZ, Gloria Nelson of Camp Verde, AZ, Vickie Moody Labeau, and Sandee (Bob) Buescher of Phoenix, AZ; he was the son-in-law of Mildred Coleman of Glendale, AZ; he was the grandfather of Becky, Ricky, Jennifer, Kevin and Bryon, and the great-grandfather of Michelle, Shelby and Drayce. A Memorial Service will be held at Douglas and Ellen\u0027s home, 955 W. Buffalo Trail, in Camp Verde on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 11:00am. Everyone is welcome to attend.
