Earll Edward ''Tex'' Gaston

Earll \u0027\u0027Tex\u0027\u0027 Edward Gaston, 92, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Thursday, November 13th. Mr. Gaston was born in Palmer, Nebraska on February 24, 1911. Tex was raised in the Mid-West and was a real gentleman and a cowboy. He eventually moved to Pasadena, California where he met and married Iola Hull on June 28, 1933. The Gastons lived in the Pasadena area for many years and raised their two children. Tex was very active in the Pasadena Lodge Of Masons. He worked as the Maintenance Superintendent of Bridges for Los Angeles County until his retirement. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. After his retirement, Tex and Iola sold their home in Pasadena and spent the next several years traveling throughout the United States and Mexico. The Gastons decided that Cottonwood, Arizona was the perfect place to retire and in 1971 they purchased a home. They continued to travel and were able to indulge their shared interests of square dancing, and of course fishing and hunting. In June of 2003, the Gastons celebrated their 70th anniversary. Mr. Gaston is survived by his daughter Beverly Shanks of Cottonwood, AZ and his son and Daughter-in-law, Maurice and Paula Gaston of California, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His beloved wife Iola preceded him in death by 11 days on November 2nd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at the Westcott Funeral Home 1013 E. Mingus Avenue Cottonwood, Arizona. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Arizona. Memorial donations may be sent to Northern Arizona Hospice 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Arizona 86326.
