Edith Easter, 85 of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was born on May 11, 1927 in Muhlhausen, Thuringia, Germany to Paul Albrecht and Martha Robel. Edith lived in Germany and came to the US permanently in 1955. Edith\u0027s father was a musician and from the age of ten she played the accordion and sang with her father\u0027s band. Edith lived in East Germany when American troops during WW2 led by General Patton occupied Muhlhausen in January 1945. She was hired, along with other German citizens, to assist in translating records at a branch of Buchenwald outside of Muhlhausen. She attended school in Germany. Edith and her husband Jack were long residents of the Tucson area. She worked as an accountant for several years in Flagstaff and Phoenix. She was the past president of the Green Valley Women\u0027s Club and past president of the National Secretary Association in Phoenix. She loved ballroom dancing, cooking, playing the accordion, entertaining, traveling, knitting and crocheting. Edith\u0027s family will miss her greatly. Rest in peace mama and grandma. We all love you! Edith was preceded in death by her husband Jack Easter in 2011. She is survived by daughters Barbara Perkins (Jerry) of Albertville, Alabama and Michelle Wallace of Cottonwood, AZ; grandchildren Eric Brownfield (Meggan) of Flagstaff, AZ, Ira Wallace of Phoenix, AZ, Darla Aloisio of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael Aloisio of Huntsville, Alabama; six great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
