Edna I. Solie, 96, passed away August 8, 2016 in Bend, OR. Edna was born August 13, 1919 to Henry L. Larson and Adeline C. Larson (Sanderson) in Carlyle, Montana. She attended Prairie View Country School in Montana and one year of Vocational school in Superior, WI. She married Albert Solie in 1940 and they farmed in Dallas, WI for 15 years. They were active members of the Dallas Lutheran Church. Edna was employed at Jerome\u0027s Turkey Plant in Barron, WI. before moving to Centralia, WA., in 1955. After moving to Centralia they were active members of Immanuel Lutheran church. Edna was employed at the Miller Transformer Co., Spokane Transformer Co., in Centralia and with T \u0026 R Electric in Coleman, S.D., from 1973 to 1976. She was Superintendent of the winding department. She retired in 1976 and she and her husband moved to Gervais, OR. In 1983 Edna and her husband moved to Cottonwood, AZ. They were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and Edna was the Fraternal Coordinator for Lutheran Brotherhood (Thrivent) there for 10 years. She was an active member of L.W.M.S. Edna was often a Greeter at church services and a Lector as well. Edna belonged to AARP in Cottonwood and held several positions in Chapter 2021 including treasurer, board member, receptionist, president and vice president. Edna was a member of the Sons of Norway and also a Scandinavian Lodge in Cottonwood. In 1992 she was installed as Historian for Boden Lodge in Cottonwood and served until 2006. Edna enjoyed cooking, making lefse for special holiday gatherings. She enjoyed square dancing and attended the Old Time Fiddler gatherings in Cottonwood where her husband, Albert often accompanied the fiddlers. She taught her oldest granddaughter to crochet at a very young age and Edna enjoyed many varieties of handwork, craft projects, beading and jewelry making, playing pool and Bingo. Edna moved to Oregon in 2009 to be closer to family and attended Emmaus Lutheran Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1991; a sister Inga Hertwig, brothers Clifford and Floyd Larson. Edna is survived by a daughter, Shirley Czerwonka, (Norm); three grandchildren, Cheryl Miller (Scot) and their children Melissa Gralnick (Aron), Amanda and Michelle Stuart; Warren (Ole) Hanson (Becca) and daughters Justyn and Mallory; Cindy King and son Nathan as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Redmond, OR. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Clarkdale, AZ.
