Edward Eugene Heartz of Camp Verde passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014. He was 71 years old. Edward was born on August 26, 1942 in Denver, CO to Roy and Bernice (Chandler) Heartz. After graduating high school, Edward enlisted in the Army, serving his country in the Vietnam War as a PFC E-3. Later he worked for the railroad and drove trucks over the road in Colorado. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Camp Verde from 1987-2000 and Name Brands and Canyon Distributing from 2000-2006 before going to work at the Suzy Q Market from 2007-2014. Edward was a member of the VFW Post #6739 and the American Legion Post #93. He enjoyed baseball, softball, boxing and watching the Broncos play. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Whitey Heartz. He is survived by his son, Rob (Linda) Harrison of Cottonwood, AZ; his daughter, Samantha (Sean Sr.) Ford of Commerce City, CO; his brother, Bill Heartz of Commerce City, CO; his sister, Judy (Art) Robles of Aurora, CO; eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
