Eldo "Gene" Sutter, 86 of Cottonwood, passed away on March 17, 2014. He was born on October 19, 1927 in Hopedale, IL to Lawrence and Sarah May Sutter. Gene worked as a journeyman carpenter and business owner and was a dealer for Vacu-Maid Central Cleaning Systems. Gene was a member of Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling, IL and Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church of Cottonwood. Gene enjoyed woodworking such as building furniture, caning chairs and collecting and restoring antiques. Gene was a man of deep faith, who was devoted to his wife Betty, his family and the church and will be missed by them and the friends he made wherever he went. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Sarah; brother Ivis Sutter; sister and brother-in-law Odela and Ray Shank; brother and sister-in-law Mervin and Dora Sutter; sister Hilda Kurtz and brother Omar Sutter. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty Sutter; son Randall "Randy" (Alice) Sutter of Clarkdale; daughters Peggy Puckett of Phoenix, Bonnie Book (Dale) of CO, Susan Mackey of TX, Holly Sutter of Cottonwood and Kelly Waugh (Keith) of IL; sister-in-laws Joan Sutter of IN, Ruby Sutter of FL and Donna Sutter of IN; brother-in-law Alvin Kurtz of FL; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Gene\u0027s Life was held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church of Cottonwood.
