Eleanor May Burnett, 88, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. She was born February 2, 1919 to Thomas Edgar and Malinda Dora May (Skrine) Burnett. In her youth, Eleanor attended Irving Elementary \u0026 Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, and graduated in 1937. Professionally, she worked as a secretary for Dahlstrom Construction in Franklin Park, Illinois until 1982. Eleanor was a very dedicated and faithful Christian. Her singing voice was angelic, and she loved to sing, especially in church. All her life, Eleanor was a uniquely loving and tender caregiver to both her family and her friends. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, and all 7 siblings, Leah, Vernon, Alice, Myrtle, Clyde, Alvis and Alvin. She leaves behind her daughter, Susan of Cottonwood, along with her significant other, Gordon; one grandson; two great-grandsons; two nieces; five nephews. A Visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home, Thursday evening, March 1, 2007 from 5:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow Friday morning, March 2, 2007 at 11:00am, and will also be held at Westcott Funeral Home.
