Eleanor Waitt, a woman of strong faith finally achieved her ultimate goal on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 when she passed away and was received into heaven. She was a resident of Cottonwood and 97 years of age. Eleanor was born in Medford, Massachusetts on November 10, 1911; the daughter of Arthur Lester and Annie Laura (Bryant) Clark. Eleanor had the privilege of being a housewife, mother and homemaker. She fulfilled those roles with tenderness and love and it was revealed through her daily dedication. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a lover of all animals; she loved going to church, her favorite flowers were roses, and she enjoyed playing bingo. Eleanor was also a people-oriented individual who touched many lives with her fun-loving spirit. Eleanor was met at heaven\u0027s gate by her husband, Howard "Gus" Waitt; her son, Howard Waitt; her parents; and many others who have awaited her arrival. She leaves behind two sons, John D. Waitt with his wife, Carole of Lake Worth, Florida, and Clark B. Waitt with his wife, Paula of Elma, Washington; her daughter, Cheryl P. Chamberlain with her husband, Pete of Cornville, Arizona; two brothers, Frank Clark of Beverly, Massachusetts, and Edward Clark with his wife, Fran of Wenham, Massachusetts; her sister, Elsie Desmarais of Lake Worth, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. All of whom will keep her forever in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at some later date at the First Baptist Church in Beverly, Massachusetts; where she was an active member while residing there.
