Elizabeth E. Allen, 96, of Phoenix, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013. She was born in Pewee Valley, KY on May 3, 1917 to Raymond and Katherine (Lush) Hazelwood. During the 1930\u0027s Elizabeth and her sisters toured the United States as ballroom dancers. During WWII, Elizabeth helped the home front war effort as a "Rosie the Riveter". Elizabeth was also a dedicated wife and mother, and a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling worldwide, dancing and singing. She gave generously of her time by helping other seniors with their daily tasks and driving them where they needed to be. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen. She is survived by her sons, Jim Allen of Rimrock and Ray Allen of Cornville; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
