Emil S. Hauk

December 8, 1930 — September 3, 2010

Emil S. Hauk December 8, 1930 - September 3, 2010 "The most important thing in life is DON'T GET EXCITED." Emil S. Hauk, born December 8, 1930 won his battle with cancer and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 3, 2010. Emil was a devoted Christian, wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, as well as an incredible friend to so many. He served during the Korean War in the United States Army as a paratrooper and medic. His rank was Corporal. He was the last surviving of 13 siblings. He has been a member of Verde Baptist Church since 1960. Emil moved his young family to Clarkdale, Arizona in 1959 to work at Phoenix Cement Plant as a mill operator and lab technician. He was employed there for 36 years until he retired. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen, his 5 children, Randall Hauk (Linda), Kenneth Hauk (Penne), Christine Voit (Greg), Timothy Hauk (Toni), and Denys Parks. He leaves 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, 2 sisters in laws and 1 brother in law. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 12 siblings. He will be remembered as "The Candy Man" to all. He will be greatly missed for his kind spirit, his generosity, and his sense of humor. What Cancer cannot do. Cancer is so limited. It cannot cripple love. It cannot shatter hope. It cannot corrode faith. It cannot eat away peace. It cannot destroy confidence. It cannot kill friendship. It cannot shut out memories. It cannot silence courage. It cannot invade the soul. It cannot reduce eternal life. It cannot quench the spirit. Graveside services were held at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Arizona. The family is hosting an open house at the Hauk residence, 1411 First North Street, Clarkdale, Arizona, on Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Arrangements were handled by Westcott Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to either Verde Baptist Church or The Verde Valley Christian School.
