Emilio Mayorga, 75, of Cottonwood died January 4. Emilio was born February 14, 1928 in Flagtsaff. He attended St. Anthony Catholic School and Flagstaff High School. He entered the U.S. Marine Corp in 1946. He also served with the National Guard. Emilio married his High School sweetheart Lucy in 1948. Lucy was at his side at his time of passing. Emilio started Mayorga\u0027s Welding in 1963, where he worked together with Lucy until they retired in 1991. Retiring to Cottonwood, Emilio volunteered at Verde Valley Medical Center and Yavapai Headstart where he was everybody\u0027s Grandpa. He also enjoyed his woodshop and woodcarving. He is survivied by his wife Lucy of Cottonwood, daughter Yolanda Shoemaker of Tucson, sons Mike of Seaport, Texas, Frank of Flagstaff who is running Mayorga\u0027s Welding; sister Carmen Lopez of Flagstaff; granddaughter Chandra Savage, Chanti Savage and Madeline Mayorga and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Edwardo, mother Maria, brothers Albert, Richard, Fred and Carlos, also sister Cecilia Navarro. He will remembered for his gentle smile and generous heart. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 8 in Our Lady of Guadelupe Church at 10 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S.
